T.I.P.S. Alcohol Awareness Certification for
Servers
Whether
on premises, off-premises, or at social functions, Maryland State
Law requires that at least one person in your organization be
trained and certified in Alcohol Awareness. Failure to comply
with this requirement could cost your establishment their license
and subject you to fines as well as possibly criminal
prosecution. SPJ
Consultants can assist in providing a safety net for you
and your company regarding the service of alcoholic
beverages. We offer TIPS (Training for
Intervention Procedures)
Certification for individuals or an
entire staff at your place of business or ours. Training
requires between 2 1/2 to 5 hours.
Who Needs TIPS Training and
Certification? Trained/Certified servers are
required for ALL establishments that sell or serve
alcohol. Training/Certification is required whenever
and wherever alcoholic beverages are purchased. TIPS is a skills-based training
program that is designed to prevent intoxication, underage
drinking, and drunk driving. It gives servers the knowledge
and confidence they need to recognize potential alcohol-related
problems and intervene to prevent alcohol-related
tragedies. TIPS Certification also is a valuable
asset for those looking to work in the alcoholic beverage
industry; it can give you an advantage when applying
for that position you have been seeking. |
